Science After Dark: It's All About Attraction at Science Museum of Virginia

Friday, 15 February, 2019

|

We’re still feeling the love from Valentine’s Day, so let’s explore the science of attraction – well, magnetism. Check out magnetizing hands-on activities, such as the Van de Graff Generator, magnetic hairstyles, a magnetic putty tub fun and a special magnet activity for our youngest scientists, 5 and under! We’ll also dissect a sheep heart in honor of the heart-themed holiday.

Explore the Museum’s three floors of exhibits, get creative with hands-on activities and then head to The Dome for special all-live Cosmic Expeditions at 6:30 and 7:15 pm; space is limited to the first 250 guests at each show, no ticket required. Stick around for a showing of Ghostbusters II (rated PG) at 8 p.m. After the shows, step outside to stargaze through telescopes with the Richmond Astronomical Society, weather permitting.
