Plans for Improved Passenger Rail Service in Richmond is presented by Emily Stock, Manager of Rail Planning, Department of Rail and Public Transportation.

Brief summary: The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is working to improve intercity passenger rail service in Virginia and throughout the east coast to offer a viable, efficient transportation choice that is competitive with  air and auto travel. As part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process, DRPT is in the final phase of a rigorous environmental analysis and preliminary engineering effort that reflects the a vision for the Washington, D.C. to Richmond segment of the Southeast Rail corridor.
