Fruitcake Science at Science Museum of Virginia

Thursday, 28 December, 2017

Celebrate the season with a memorable week chockful of quirky science!

During this annual holiday event, the Museum will conduct unconventional experiments on everyone’s least favorite holiday treat: fruitcake. Watch in amazement as Museum educators burn, drop, smash and freeze fruitcakes – all in the name of science, of course!

Plus, guests can see the Museum’s special fruitcake collection which includes a fruitcake that launched to space and back, one that traveled directly from Buckingham Palace and new this year, a Virginia-shaped fruitcake recently baked by Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Fruitcake Science is included with Museum admission. The daily schedule of Fruitcake Science demonstrations will be posted on the Museum’s website.
